    One of the highest mountain ranges in the world - 4 peaks over 8,000 meters and more than 100 mountains above 7000 m. Karakorum is divided into 4 parts. Agil-Karakoram and 3 parts - the Western, Central and Eastern Karakoram, a large Karakorum (Greate Karakoram). In the Western Karakoram are the highest peaks in the world. Especially a lot of them in the area of Batura, Muztagh Hispar and in the eastern part of the range Baltoro Muztagh. In the mountain system has many famous steep walls: the north-western wall of the peak Spantik or Golden Peak (7027, Ridge Rakaposhi) wall peak Ogre (7285, district Panmah), Trango Towers (approx. 6300m), the northern wall Masherbrum (7806, Ridge Masherbrum) and others. and is the most heavily glaciated part of the world outside the polar regions.
