    For most of climbers the highest point in all Antarctica is only the reason of getting there. The climbing itself is reportedly moderate to tough, ignoring the ridiculous logistics of getting climbers there.

    The Ellsworth Mountains is the highest Antarctica's mountain system. Due to this reason it's the most popular place there among climbers and tourists. Vinson Massif - the most expensive part of "Seven Summits" list and the highest mountain in Antarctica, is situated there. However, arranging an outing here is a difficult task, requiring either official scientific sponsorship or considerable financial resources.

    The Ellsworth Mountains is situated in the southern part of Ellsworth Land and in 450 km off the north Antarctica coast.

    The mountains were discovered on November 23, 1935 by Lincoln Ellsworth in the course of a trans-Antarctic flight from Dundee Island to the Ross Ice Shelf. Till 1957 scientists haven't been known that highest continental point is situated there.
