Your Chance To Edit

Famous mountain, good logistics, a worthy test - there are no

easy route, all are technical

Les Grandes Jorasses is less universally known than the

Matterhorn, 600m lower than Mont Blanc, nevertheless the

Grandes Jorasses exude an air of mystery and power. If Mt.

Blanc is the king of the Alps, the Grandes Jorasses complex is

truly the queen.

Description Edit

The mountain has the shape of a kilometer-long ridge with six

vertices. Pointe Walker (4208 m), Pointe Whymper, Pointe Croz

(4110 m), Pointe Margherita (4065 m), Pointe Elena (4045 m),

Pointe Young (3996 m).

Located on the French side of the mountain, the north face is

one of the six great north faces of the Alps. One of the most

famous walls in the Alps, it towers 1200 m (3,900 ft) above the

Leschaux Glacier, stretching 1 km from end to end.
