    Every year, the summit of Mount Mont Blanc becomes the ultimate objective for mountaineers from all over the world, all striving to stand on the top of Europe and look down at all of the major summits of the Alps. Climbers usually choose one of the two most popular routes to climb Mont Blanc from Chamonix. While not technically challenging, ascending Mont Blanc requires a high level of physical fitness and experience using crampons and an ice axe.

    As the highest peak of the Alps and Western Europe, Mount Mont Blanc perhaps is the most famed ascent in Alps, and considered the birthplace of mountaineering. Mont Blanc is placed on 11th position in the world in topographic prominence and named after its white snow-covered glaciers. Nowadays the summit is ascended by an average of 20,000 mountaineers each year. It could be considered an easy, yet arduous, ascent for someone who is well-trained and acclimatized to the altitude. Most of ascents are made during the summer season from the French side where routes are well known and have lots of lodges. While the routes from Italian side from Valle d'Aosta are not as well known and popular. Ascent of Mont Blanc is not technically complicated, but nevertheless it can not be called easy - good physical condition and endurance are required.
