    The highest volcano in the world - Ojos del Salado (6 893 meters) is located in the Central Andes, so climbers who gathering the "7 Volcanoes" sooner or later will visit this mountain range. But apart from the Ojos del Salado the Central Andes can satisfy the most discerning fans of outdoor-activities. Peruvian Andes are known for their beautiful snow-capped peaks, such as Alpamayo and Huascarán. There are also several very famous hiking routes such as "Trekking to Machu Picchu" and "Trekking in the Cordillera Huayhuash".

    The Central Andes are the vast mountain range located in Peru, Bolivia and some provinces of Chili and Argentina. It consists of several big ranges such as Peruvian Andes, Bolivian Andes, Plateau Altiplano and Puna de Atacama. The highest volcano in the world - Ojos del Salado (6893 meters) - is located within the Puna de Atacama. The widest part of the Andes is situated in the Plateau Altiplano with more than 700 kilometers average width.
