Full description

Snowshoes are ancient contraptions made for walking on snow. Winter forests and mountains are gorgeous, but are quite hard to navigate through due to being covered in deep snow, and snowshoes are just the things to help you not stay at home and enjoy the great winter outdoors.

Who uses them nowadays? Mainly hunters, tourists and geologists. In western countries, there is a whole snowshoeing industry! Many people are passionate about walking in snowy forests and some even run like that!

Why is it worth trying? This is a peculiar mix of feelings: something between excitement of a hunter, anticipation of discovery and the ability to run like a snow leopard! This makes you feel like a true adventurer! It is also easy and inexpensive and so is available to everyone.

Our trekking begins from the “Priyut Vetrov” mountain refuge (2,256m, upper station Gazprom-Alpika cable car). We will walk right along the Aibga ridge to the Krasnaya Polyana ski-resort (Gorki Gorod) and see breathtaking sights of nearby mountains of Abhasia on one side, and Adygea on the other, and if the weather is clear enough we might even see glistening sea!
