Get acclimated. If you do not live and/or climb on a regular basis at altitude then I would recommend at least 1 week acclimating before summit day. You can start acclimating in the Baksan Valley, at the foot of Mt. Elbrus. Acclimatization hike up Cheget Peak (3650 m).
