Edgar has a great experience of more than 17 years of mountain climbing in Ecuador, and around the world, like Colombian, Bolivian, Peruvian and Argentinean Andes; in the Italian, Swiss, German and Austrian Alps, in northern Himalayas the KhanTengri peak, and recently successfully Mount McKinley in Alaska, such experience allowed him to lead challenge routes and expeditions with much success.

He is passionate traveler, photographer, rock and ice climber and more.., He spends most of his free time and vacation “discovering” new mountains, new destinations, new cultures.

As a complement of his 6 years of University studies in Tourism, He has attended important courses, such as:

* Mountain Guide and updates courses by ASEGUIM (Ecuadorian Association of Mountain Guides), in April 2000, in April 2009, in September 2014.

* Mountain Guides Evaluation by ENSA (Ecole Nationale de Ski et d'Alpinisme) in October 2006. An event organized by the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador and ENSA of France.

* Wilderness First Responder, updated in April 2016.

Quito - Chimborazo Refuge (16,400ft /5.000m)
We will drive south from Quito (9,186ft/2.800m) towards the city of Ambato (8,858ft/2,700m) through the Avenue of the Volcanoes for about 5 hours until we get to the Chimborazo`s reserve. We will drive right to Hermanos Carrel refuge (15,744ft/4,800m), where we will have dinner and get some rest until 10 pm. There will be an early light breakfast served just before we get our gear ready and start hiking up(-/BL/D)

Day 2

Refuge - Chimborazo Top (20,702ft/6.310m) - Quito
Before midnight, we will start our climb to the top of Ecuador’s highest mountain, Chimborazo, which will take us about 9 to 11 hours. We will get to the top (20,702ft/6.310m) early in the morning. It is a perfect place for resting and pictures of the beautiful Andean surroundings. After some rest, we will start our descending to the Refuge. It will take us 4 to 5 hours. Once in “Hermanos Carrel Refuge” we will pack our gear, where our transportation will be ready to take us back to Quito (B/BL/-)
