It is no coincidence that in the year 2018 Lonely Planet ranked the Vipava valley among the ten European destinations worth visiting.

The Vipava valley and its diverse landscape delights every hiker. Due to its many natural features, the Vipava valley is an ideal starting point for numerous hikes with various difficulty. The valley, its hills, steep slopes and high plateaus offer a variety of challenging trails that fascinate and surprises with views and sights.

The steep slopes of the Nanos, the Upper and the periphery of the Trnovo plateau offer many opportunities for hiking enthusiasts. Hikers who prefer to choose the mountain peak, can try the Vipava valley with all the opportunities in all seasons. The most popular peaks, such as Nanos, Čaven, Mali Golak, Kucelj, Škabrijel and Sabotin, are accessible throughout the year. The views from the peaks are beautiful and in good weather reach all the way to the sea and the Julian Alps.
