Located in the Vilcanota mountain range, Jatunriti Mountain is the fourth highest peak in the Region. It´s remote location invites us to depart from Singrenacocha, a beautiful glacier pond surrounded by huge mountains at 4,950 meters above sea level.
Jatunriti means “great glacier peak” and it is not only the ideal option for mountaineering lovers but one of the few places where you can practice as well, ski and snowboard.

Hi! I'm an independent mountaineering guide, native of Argentina.
Cusco is unlike any place in the world. Mountaineering has in Cusco, an incomparable scenery: a unique concentration of mountains without agglomerations of climbers, a benign climate most of the year and a relatively easy access to totally isolated environments. Thanks to this unique combination, Cusco is considered one of the most attractive destinations for mountain climbers from all over the world.

Cusco (3.400m) – Mallma – Base Camp (4.600m)
We will depart from your hotel at 06:00 hrs. A 4-hour scenic drive will take us to Mallma, our starting point for this trip where we will enjoy an energizing outdoor lunch, and a short break, before we start our 4-hour hike, through Singrenacocha and Mullucocha Ponds, to Base Camp. The route will allow us to enjoy the amazing panoramic views of the beautiful landscape.
Base Camp – Camp I (5.400m)
Our 6-hour journey will start after breakfast. We will hike in North West direction while crossing the first moraines towards Huaururumicocha Pond where we will find Camp 1. We will have an early dinner because we will wake up at 23:00 hrs. to prepare our equipment. Then, we will have breakfast and afterwards, we will attempt the summit.
Camp I – Summit (6.106m) – Camp I
It will take us 7 hours to climb to the summit and 5 hours to get back to Camp 1. This long journey will allow us to catch privileged views of the Vilcanota mountain range. When we return, a delicious lunch will be waiting for us as well as a deserved break.
Camp I – Base Camp
Today´s journey will take us about 4 to 5 hours. So we will have enough time for a good rest and to explore the area.
