Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is the right for those who don’t have much time for longer trek, or don’t think you are physically ready for hard and longer trekking? Then Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is the perfect one for you. Poon Hill Ghorepani trek offers easy walk in the first day of trek. Only on the day of the trip, you have some long steep uphill stone stair case to Ulleri Village from Hile but after walking about two hours from the beginning you will enter into biggest rhododendron forest. You may see different colors of rhododendron flowers if you are trekking in March to May. Once you reach to Upper Ghorepani Deurali you will observe beautiful matchless panoramic Mountain View. On the second night we stay at Ghorepani, at altitude of 2855 meters. Most trekkers rise before down and hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) for early morning pleasure trek. The spectacular panorama stretches from Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukche peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhre (6997m) and the Lamjung Himal and Manaslu to Far East.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Join Kathmandu 1300m, Pick from airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing in UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites.

Day 03: 200 km drive to Pokhara (800m), takes 6-7 hours.

Day 04: Trek to Ulleri (2100m), 4-5 hours walk.

Day 05: Trek to Deurali (2855m), 5-6 hours walk.

Day 06: Excursion Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2680m), 5 hrs walk.

Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk (1940m), 4 hours walk and drive to Pokhara.

Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu

Day 3

Fly to Pokhara (800m), takes 25 minutes on flight.
After hot breakfast drive to domestic airport and we dake a exciting scenic flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu view of spectacular panoramic view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal and most of Annapurna Himalayan Range are seen. Upon arrival in Pokhara, we visit Davis fall, Gupteswor cave and Mountain Museum, stroll around lake side. Stay overnight in Hotel Splendid View. Meals Included: Breakfast.

Day 4

Trek to Ulleri (2100m), 4-5 hours walk.
Starting at about 8 am from Pokhara (the main closest town to the Annapurna Himalaya range), we drive about 2.5 hours by car/jeep to Nayapul – Hile to begin the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. The road to Nayapul from Pokhara is black on top and Nayapul to Hile section is dirt road. We have lunch break at Hile and we start hiking to Ulleri (2100m), First 35 to 45 minutes will be regular easy walk and then steep Ulleri uphill starts soon. It is said to have 3000 stone steps. Overnight stay in lodge. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 5

Trek to Deurali (2855m), 5-6 hours walk.
It is a bit challenging hike up as on first day; then we walk lush forest of rhododendron, oak and bamboo forests. We go to sleep early as the next day we climb up to Poon Hill summit. Overnight stay in lodge. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 6

Excursion Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2680m), 5 hrs walk
Before dawn we get out of our cozy sleeping bags piled high with blankets, dressed up and walk up about 45 minute climb to the top of Poon Hill (3210m) for sunrise view. This is the view that the entire Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is based upon, and it’s worth every step to get there. We hike back down and take breakfast at the lodge, set off to Tadapani. Overnight stay in lodge at Tadapani. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 7

Trek to Ghandruk (1940m), 4 hours walk and drive to Pokhara.
We walk along a shaded forest trail, followed by terraced fields of maize and potatoes to Ghandruk. From here we have fantastic views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare. It is a major settlement of the Gurung, an ethnic group of Nepal. It is a very famous Gurung village with terraces and offers excellent mountain views. After arriving, it is possible to take a short walk to explore the village, visiting a cultural museum and monastery. Overnight stay in lodge in Ghandruk. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 8

Drive to Kathmandu
Walk down hill from Ghandruk to Syauli Bazaar then flat pleasing walk to Nayapul and drive back civilization in Pokhara. Rest and relax after 5 days hiking. Stay overnight in Hotel Splendid View in Pokhara. Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch.
