The Incas occupied the site of Waqrapukara (Fortress of Horn, in clear allusion to its rock formation). After conquering the ethnic group of the Kanas. From this Quechua word comes the name of the southern Cusqueñia province where this magnificent archaeological site is located. Built on the top of the mountain, Waqrapukara, offers us a passage of mountain chains that are lost on the horizon. This archaeological site was linked to astrological observation and rituals for the development of agricultural activity, since the structures of this site are oriented towards sunrise. We will also observe niches with three jambs, a detail only observed in the architecture of Mauka Llacta, in the mythical Paqarektampu.
