Welcome to the Mountain Planet - a multilingual geo-informational social network for interaction within the global Alpine Community!
Our mission is to engender, empower and encourage preservation of the alpine environment for future generations. We want to make it more accessible and safer for the people by providing secure information about routes, conditions, equipment and service providers. We want the mountains to become a “healthy way of life” symbol for the younger generation to enlarge the Alpine Community.
Our goal is to combine existing pieces into a new quality of climbers experience by creating a web-based, free content encyclopedia of all branches of alpine environment. Everyone is welcome to contribute his knowledge and experience into encyclopedia by creating new and editing existing articles and pages that contain unique information about routes, conditions, equipment and service providers. We are glad you wish to help develop Mountain Planet, and we hope you enjoy participating in our virtual community.
Who We Are?
We are a solid team of 25 co-workers, leaded by Sergey Kofanov
– a renowned mountain guide, high-altitude expedition leader and professional athlete.
What is the Alpine Community?
We define the global Alpine Community as a major part of the outdoor industry. Alpine Community participants’ are mountaineers, rock and ice climbers, hill walkers and high-altitude hikers, and ski-tourers. According to initial estimates, the global Alpine Community is about 30 million people aged from 16 to 70 years.
