above, climbers from China also wanted to share the challenge of climbing this summit.

Maximus Tipagau, owner of the Adventure Carstensz tour shared this story, accompanied by his team, chaperoned 13 Chinese nationals to climb the Carstensz Peak in a series of locations in Central Highlands Papua. The peak is 4,884 m above sea level, the highest in Indonesia, one of the 7 highest peaks on 7 continents. “We guided 13 tourists from China, they come from different regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, and etc. They are such a nature lover community,” said Maximus. The journey started from Timika, by helicopter to the Base camp of the Lakes. Guides of the climbers from China at the time were Ardeshir Yaftebbi, Agus, and Hendricus Mutter. On 23rd October the climbers from China arrived in Timika and on 27th October, 5 days later they reached the summit at the top of Carstensz.

The feeling of pride that accompanied the journey, while exploring the rocky terrain of Carstensz as disrobed. “Well, they were so happy, they really liked the landscape at the top of Carstensz and enjoyed the challenge on every trek,” Maximus added. “Everything went well climbing to the top, followed by no problems on the descent back to base camp, climbers did not want to forget about the natural beauty at

the top of Papua, in turn, they took drones and recorded memories. He said they want to immortalize Carstensz and promote it on the return to their country.

Climbers indeed find it very challenging in the difficultness of the fixed line rope climb. One’s rock climbing technique must be well skilled and controlled to take on the 90-degree inclination a high technical challenging for rock-climbers and high-altitude climbers alike.

The hard work during the climb will be paid off completely on the top of Cartstensz. The amazing natural scenery is like being in a land of clouds.
