With this trip we want to present what calls himself, not without reason, the country in the Pyrenees, Andorra.
Just 2 hours. drive from Barcelona, it has an almost endless range possibilities to practice ski touring and snowshoe hikes, with almost guaranteed snow cover in the mountains from Christmas until the end of April. This means that if the weather is bad on the highest peaks, it is almost certain that there will always be an alternative in order to save the day.
The summits that we present are divided into two major valleys of Andorra: Ordino and Canillo. The difficulty, between easy and moderate, with altitude change between 900 and 1100 meters which can be done in a morning, makes these activity able to almost everyone with a moderate level of fitness and ski skills. The rest of the day can be used to practice rescue techniques with beacons, shovel and probe, or even to make another summit we can find in the area.
The accommodations are always the village, which offers a wide variety of prices, in order to fit all the budgets
Obviously, like any other proposal in high mountain terrain, this one may change somewhat depending on the weather or snow conditions of the mountain.
