Alpindustria is a mountain guide, ski guide and adventure company based in the Azau Valley, at the foot of the Mount Elbrus Massif. Flight to Mineral Vody. We’ll fly to Mineral Vody (mineral water), and travel by bus to our hotel in the Baksan Valley. The Baksan is known for its Russian climbing camps. Mountaineers from all over the world come here to train and climb in the Caucasus. It is also a great location for them to develop the technical skills necessary to climb great peaks around the world. Full gear check.

Acclimatization hike to Cheget Peak (3 460m). This is a long day of walking with good altitude increases. This journey begins with acclimatization along well-traveled trails, which wind endlessly through the foothills of the Caucasus. En route, we interact with the local people as we wander through the villages and markets that pepper the mountain’s lower region. By the end of this day, most climbers feel strong and accustomed to the altitude.

Summit day. We’ll leave camp via Sno-Cat at 3 a.m. and ride to the Pastukov Rocks area. The route ascends 1,000 m of moderate snow climbing to the saddle. From there, we turn west and head up 300 m of steeper terrain, finally reaching the summit plateau. Elbrus is the near-perfect ascent for aspiring climbers who wish to test their skills at increasing altitude. Although only basic mountaineering skills are required, high altitude and unpredictable weather make this a challenging and enticing ascent. It is a long day; look for a 12-hour round-trip climb. From the summit, we’ll have excellent views of the Caucuses, including Ushba, the Matterhorn of the region.

She is based in the Terskol village at the foot of Mount Elbrus, has explored every corner of the Azau Valley and has formed many close relationships with the local people living there. She has worked with climbers of all levels of experience, but particularly enjoys teaching novice climbers how to be comfortable and self-sufficient in the mountains.
Sergey Kovalev is known for Everest first Ukrainian ascent. In addition to his fame in the extreme environments of Alaska, the Himalayas and Antarctica, Sergey’s success in guiding people to the summit is simply remarkable. Along with guiding numerous high altitude expeditions, Sergey is a two time summiteer of Everest. Sergey’s guided ascents are an extremely unique blend of his dynamic spirit, climbing expertise and guiding savvy, known throughout the local guiding community.
Great guides (Elbrus Tours), great food, great group, great accommodation and most importantly the climb and the acclimatisation hikes were amazing. It’s amazing being surrounded by mountains especially in the Caucasus mountain ranges! I couldn’t think of a better way to be introduced to mountaineering. We are Wanadri women series and Pemalang Team. Climbed Mt.Elbrus on 24th 2010 at 2 o'clock. It's a great mountain! But we (women 8, Irma, Danny, Indra and Aser) reached the West top! Very great guides! Sergey, Daniel, Victor and Habib! The food was great, too! Me (Maria) and Nisa will be back some day to climb Elbrus!
I returned home to Ireland safe and well and am now back at work. I wish to thank you and your company for coordinating matters in Russia / Elbrus region for this expedition. We offer you complete and balanced meals useful for people exercising up in the mountains If you have food restrictions please inform us at least 1 week prior your arrival. We’ll try our best to make you feel comfortable.
All EU and US citizens are required to have a visa before arriving in Russia. You will need to obtain your visa well in advance of the climb directly from a Russian Embassy or consulate. We will send letter of invitation to you as well as detailed instruction on obtaining a visa.
Your guide will carry a first aid kit all the time during your climb. However, please bring your own medicine in case you need any of prescribed items. There are a few drug stores in Mineral Vody and Terskol so you won’t have any problem with all basic treatments.
Temperature in the Baksan Valley varies from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. It can be from +15 to -5 above 3500m, and from +10 to -15 on the summit depending on the weather. In case of bad weather conditions we will use a reserve day to reschedule the climb.
For transfer we use comfortable sedans (depending on the group size) or minibuses (for 10-15 people) like Mercedes, Volkswagen or Ford. In case if needed we help you to book an individual car for extra fee. To reach high camp you’ll need to obtain a chair lift pass.
Our guides are responsible for providing safety on all kinds of mountain relief. They have a radio, GPS, a mobile telephone, all necessary group equipment. All guests should have medical insurance in case of incidents which can cover all expenses in emergency.
