Vangelis Stavroulakis

I was born and raised in the old city of Chania, in Crete.

I am a professional mountaineer, mountain instructor.

I have many years of experience working as a mountain guide in Greece, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Nepal, Tibet, Pakistan and on the western side of the USA.

I’ m active in mountaineering, ski touring, rock and ice climbing, hiking and walking road, mountain running and mountain hiking, trail running and swimming. 

I have climbed on the well-known peaks of Himalaya, Baruntse 7.161m., Mera Peak 6.470m, Island Peak 6.186m , Tharpu Chuli 5.800m, , and Naya Kanga 5.844m. and on many other mountains in the world such as Alps, Apennine, Pyrenees, Olympus e.t.c

Naturally, I displayed a love of nature, mountains and adventure from childhood. I was 12 years old, when I did my first alpine skiing lessons. At the age of 14 I started taking part in ski races and road cycling. For me, engaging in mountain activities is not just a hobby, but a way of life I want to share with people. Through the contact with the nature, the wild beauty of the mountains, being members of a team, we learn to operate with companionship and solidarity, set and achieve new goals. I like to socialize with people and share our own travel experiences.

I provide week programs and daily trips and courses, for all levels of fitness and for all ages, in private small groups or families, combining safety and enjoyment.  Walking across gorges, hide paths, rivers, caves, we behold, at the end, the majestic mountains and the endless peaks.

Physical Education and Sport Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. 

Mountaineering and Ski touring instructor of Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering & Climbing. 

UIAGM IFGAM entry test for professional Mountain guide. 

Anena.org at France avalanche rescuer training. 

Member of the alpine club of Chania, Athens and France Club Alpin de Chamonix.

I worked for the Trekking Plan Outdoor Activities and for another tourist offices and companies for 21 years.

I have worked for the North Face Europe for 3 years.
