Mount Elbrus

South route


The easiest and most popular route to climb Elbrus. Suitable for all levels of climbers, especially from the beginner level to intermediate. There are ski lifts up to 3800 m (Barrels Hut), so you don't have to carry your backpack. Finally, most people hire a snow-cat to ascend from the Barrels Hut up to the Pastukhov Rocks (4600 m) on the summit day.

North route


More suitable for climbers from intermediate to advanced level. Trekking distances are longer than on the South Route and there are no ground means of transportation, so the climbers reach the summit by walking - from the beginning to the end. Machame route is the second most popular option among the climbers, but more intermediate level. Lemosho route


Similar to Machame Route, but more wild and extremely picturesque and excellent acclimatization opportunities combined with low traffic of climbers. Travelers have to use tents on this route.

Rongai is the only route starting on the northern slope of Kilimanjaro - this part of the Mountain is rarely visited by climbers and hikers.
