Ski touring in Russia. March 2019

Skiing and hiking one week with our Guide Sergey in the area of Kibiny Mountain was one of the best winter experiences I have ever made. Sergey knows the mountains like no one else, writes every day a snow diary to evaluate the avalanche risk and choose the right tour. To be honest, I have never seen this professional level of alpinism in any guided tours in Austria. I had the feeling that safety is most important but this does not mean that the fun is reduced, you will have indeed runs you will never forget. As European you should know that Sergey‘s English is not the best but together with his Girlfriend, who often joins the tours, the communication is fine. The best is when you know some russian basics.
