Nun is the highest peak in between Zanskar and Kargil regions of Ladakh in the far Western Himalayas. The approach to Nun Base Camp is appealingly short and easily accessible by road. It probably must be the most easily approachable 7000m+ mountain in the entire himalayan range.
  • Description Edit •  Add / Share you knowledge with mates

Nun is a mountain situated in the far western part of the himalayas between Zanskar and Kargil regions of Ladakh, India. It is the highest peak in its range. Kun is another sister peak next to it separated by a vast snow plateau. Leh town would be the most convenient centre as it is for approaching any other nearby areas or peaks in the Ladakh region.
  • Getting There Edit •  Add / Share you knowledge with mates

You fly in to Delhi(Capital of India). From Delhi the flying distance to Leh would be 1hr 10mins approx. Delhi airport presently has three terminals operating now: T1, T2 and T3. All the international and some domestic flights fly in and out from T3. You might have to transfer to the terminal T1 or T2 for your domestic flights and vice versa, depending on the airline. Overland to Leh Routes: Delhi-Manali-Leh Driving into Leh from either Manali or Srinagar is an adventure worth doing once. The landscapes are simply stunning. We advise the Delhi-Manali-Leh route then the Delhi-Srinagar-Leh route, because of the political tension in Kashmir. Up to Manali you can take buses by Himachal Pradesh tourism buses (HPTDC) from Delhi. From Manali we would recommend you to take a shared or booked taxi to reach Leh. You can also take a flight from Delhi to Kullu (around 50kms from Manali) or a flight from Kullu to Delhi if you want to drive out of Leh. Delhi-Jammu-Srinagar-Leh There are daily flights from Delhi to Srinagar. From Srinagar you can take a taxi to reach Leh and vice versa. Due to instability in the Kashmir valley often, we would strongly suggest you take the Delhi - Manali - Leh route. Leh town would be the convenient center for this trip.
