Delone Peak - one of the few interesting climbing objects of Altai. In addition to classic there are 6 routes, most of which are touch and dangerous. Interesting route to Eastern Belukha can be laid across the top of Delaunay - traverse, with descent in the standard route. Climbing Peak Delaunay may be interesting to those climbers whose experience allows not limited themselves by the standard rout to Belukha, but also to try something more technically challenging.
  • Description Edit •  Add / Share you knowledge with mates

Peak Delaunay is not as popular as his neighbour - famous mountain Belukha. Most of expeditions are interesting in Belukha in first place. Classic route on Peak Delaunay is little harder than the classical route Belukha East Summit. Altai weather is unstable and unpredictable, and sometimes even an easy routes become unclimbable because of snow and high winds. Though the Altai is lower in elevation than other Asian mountain systems, it is very remote, and much time and planning are required for its approach.
