Your Chance To Edit

Classic climbing route on relatively low for the Himalayas, but

high by world standards, peak. Interesting to those wants to

make the ascent of low difficulty in Himalayas during the

performing of Manaslu Circuit. This route is certainly a great

alternative to the Annapurna Circuit. Manaslu area is newly

opened, the trails are relatively less trekked, and the culture

and traditions are less affected.

Description Edit

Larkya Peak is a perfect peak to climb in combination with the

Manaslu Circuit Trek. It offers non-technical easy climbing with

fabulous views of Manaslu, the Annpurnas, Ganesh Himal and

beyond – this panoramic views are the main attraction of the

ascent. Larkya Peak is rarely climbed trekking peak.

There are two peaks - subsidiary Sano (small) Larkya (5,807 m),

which is by the way steeper, and Thulo (big) Larkya (6,249 m).

Sano Larkya Peak can be climbed in a long day from the base

camp which is close to the Manasly circuit trek.  However, to

climb Thulo (big) Larkya
(6,249 m), a high camp is needed.

Reaching true Larkya Peak is a long but easy climb on snow

slopes. The best option for climbers is to make a high camp and

then complete both peaks.
