It is believed that on the top of Mount Sinai, Moses received the Tablets of faith with the famous Ten Commandments. Every night, dozens of pilgrims from around the world climb the mountain of Moses, to greet the dawn. Mountain is composed primarily of granite. The climb takes two to three hours, and affordable for anyone in decent physical shape. Two paths leeds to the top - one shorter, but abruptly; other flatter and longer. They connecting not far from the top, where there is a chapel, where rock stairs carved by monks begin.

Mount Sinai is located near the city of Saint Catherine in the Sinai region and 200 km from Suez city. It is next to Mount Catherine and surrounded on all sides by higher peaks of the mountain range.

The closest resorts to mount Sinai are Sharm el-Sheikh, Dahab and Taba - from there the mountain can be reached by bus for a couple of hours. From Hurghada, El Gouna and Marsa Alam it's only possible to get here by plane and then by bus.

According to the Bible on the mountain on the peninsula of Sinai, God appears to Moses and gave the Ten Commandments. However, information on the exact location of Mount Sinai did not survive.
