Barisan mountains and the mountains of the Malay Archipelago – are thousands of kilometers of pristine rainforest, many high mountains, active volcanoes and beautiful lakes.
This region will be interesting for rock-climbers – there are a lot of rocky spots here.

DESCRIPTION Edit

Numerous volcanoes, most of which are chain length of more than 3000 km (it includes Barisan mountain range), is located in a seismic zone Great Sumatran fault. Most of them are active.

LOCATION Edit

Barisan mountain range, 1,700 km length, are located in the western part of the Indonesian island of Sumatra and stretches across the entire island, continuing with the chain of volcanoes on the islands of Java, Bali, Nusa Tengarra and East Timor.
Also there are the mountains on the islands of Borneo, Sulawesi and the Moluccas.
