We suggest you to climb the Elbrus, the highest point in Europe, (5642m altitude) along the classic route from the south of the 2A difficulty category, under the guidance of experienced guides that will help you competently prepare for the ascent, and also make it as safe as possible!
Russia, Terskol, Kabardino-Balkaria, Elbrussky District
Meeting at the airport of Mineralnye Vody.
Meeting at the airport / railway station and transfer by private minibus to the village of Terskol (3 hours from Ming Vod Airport). Accommodation in a hotel in Cheget. After dinner, check your personal equipment; review the program for the next days.
Acclimatization trek to the Observatory.
The route starts directly from the hotel doors. Through the coniferous forest we get to the village of Terskol. Further, the path begins to smoothly twist serpentine along the southern slopes of Elbrus, passing through cowsheds, coniferous forest and open alpine meadows. On the way you can admire the slopes of Kogutai, Cheget and see Donguzorun in all its glory. After reaching the waterfall, descend along the path of ascent. Delta (2000 m-3200 m). Duration: 5-6 hours.
Ascent to the Peak Cheget (3100m).
Rise from the meadow of Cheget (2000m) along a dirt road, a mountain path to the top of the chair lift (3100m). From the site, next to the weather station in good weather, you can see the whole route of climbing and a stunning panorama of the southern slopes of Elbrus. Difference (2000m-3100m). The exit takes 4-5 hours. It is possible to descend by chair lift (up the request of the group members). Return to the hotel. Break
Transfer to the high mountain hut 3800m.
Ascent to the hut "Shelter 11" (4100m).
Ascent on the cable car: Azau (2200m) - Old Krugozor (2950m) - Mir (3500m) - Garabashi (3750m) with all the equipment and products. Accommodation in a high-altitude shelter at 3800m. Acclimatization at height of 4100m, where the former "Shelter 11" is located. Duration: 2-3 hours. Overnighting in a high-altitude shelter.
Exit to Pastukhov Rocks (4750 m)
Acclimatization to the Pastukhov Rocks (4750 m). The ascent will take 4-6 hours.
Relax
Ice and snow practice classes. Planning for the ascent according to the weather forecast, preparation of the equipment. A short walk down the cable car is possible.
Ascent to the Western peak of Elbrus (5642m).
Breakfast. Early exit (2-4 am). Climbing to the top takes an average of 6-9 hours, (with an ascent on the snowstorm to (4600m).) Return to the hut.
Reserve day for the weather.
In case of successful ascent on the 7th day on this day we descend in the morning to the village of Terskol.
Renting equipment, buying souvenirs. Festive dinner.
