Full description
We'll meet up at Thessaloniki and drive to Litochoro village - the starting point of our hike. It is situated on a slope of the mountain, with preserved old houses and narrow cobblestone streets. The air you breath there is different from anything you have experienced before. Here we will discuss our trip and then begin our journey towards mount Olympus. We will bask in the beautiful nature, learn the legends and myths of this sacred place and just have a great time.
We will be visiting Epineas waterfall, where you'll have a chance to swin near it. The water is rather cold, so it is a challenge not for the faint of heart! Another place we will visit is the Holy Cave, where Saint Dionysios lived. After that we'll explore the ruins of the old monastery, and then hike further to Prionia refuge, where we will have snacks and drink tea of coffee.
This is a moderate difficulty hike, so be prepared. If you happen to get tired by the time we'he reached Prionia refuge, it is possible to call a taxi to take us back to Litochoro. It costs somewhere around 25EUR.
