The offer includes renting an experienced and certified guide to lead the expedition to Kazbek (5054 m above sea
level) for an individual group (maximum 3 persons per one guide) for a maximum of 5 days of the mountain action.
The plan of our expeditions has been prepared by us so that each of you will be able to get Kazbek in the maximal
possible way. The plan assumes a gradual acclimatization, spreading the whole mountain action for a few days and
a backup day, which will allow you to face the mountain safely if you are in good physical condition and do not have
health contraindications (even without previous experience in high mountains). The most important thing is that
during the whole trip you will be accompanied by our high-mountain guide (also trained in the field of emergency
medical services in the mountains), who will be responsible for your safety. Our guides speak English on
the level enabling trouble-free communication at every stage of the trip. we lead groups to Kazbek according to European standards, that is one guide for 3 participants of the expedition.
This guarantees maximum safety during the mountain action, as well as maximum chances of reaching the summit.
It is also important that we will assist you in preparing for the expedition at each stage – via e-mail.
and also take part in the training before the expedition (through an online platform), which will help you to prepare
for the meeting with Kazbek even better. Of course you can ask us anything via e-mail.
In addition, we can arrange transfers from airports in Tbilisi or Kutaisi to Stepancminda or horse rental for transporting
your luggage to Meteo Station. In our office in Stepancminda, you can buy gas for cookers and jetboils, trekking
maps. In addition, we can organize your accommodation in Stepancminda.
A PLAN OF THE KAZBEK EXPEDITION:
The given plan is the one that we implement most often and which we recommend to everyone.
Of course, the exact mountain action plan is determined with each group individually.
DAY ONE – we meet at the place where our expedition starts, in Stepancminda (Kazbegi) in Georgia. If you do not
have your equipment with you, you can rent with us everything you need for peak attack - crampons, ice axes, harnesses, sleeping
bags and others. In rent you can also buy gas for tourist cookers and lyophilized products.
Then we start our trip to the top of Kazbek. We can get to the hill, where the church of the Holy Trinity is located and where the
route to Kazbek begins (2170 m above sea level) on off-road vehicles. If you additionally purchase a main luggage transport by the
horses, your luggage will be packed and then transported straight to the Meteo Station, and you will trek only with small
backpacks. The estimated time of trekking for this day is 7 - 8 hours. After this time we come to the Meteo Station - 3650 m above
sea level, where we will set up a camp (accommodation in tents, the cost of accommodation: 10 lari for one tent for one night).
There is also the possibility of accommodation at the Meteo Station (cost: 40 lari for one person for one night). During the trip, we
will prepare all the meals on our own (tourist and gas cookers will be necessary).
*You can rent everything, but we suggest you have your own mountaineering boots and sleeping bag.
DAY TWO OR THREE – Acclimatization day. As part of acclimatization, we go on trekking, during which we surpass the barrier of
4000 m above sea level. The expected time of trekking that day is 3 – 4 hours. After return, we organize training on the principles
of walking with a rope, assurance, using the ice ax and general safety in the high mountains. Then we rest in the base at the Meteo.
DAY FOUR OR FIVE - In the morning we descent to Stepancminda (Kazbegi). The descent will take about
5 - 6 hours. The off-road vehicle will take us from the Holy Trinity church. If you buy extra luggage transport,
your luggage is taken to the village on horseback, and you have only small backpacks while trekking.
In Kazbegi, in our office, we finish our expedition.
Station and prepare for the peak attack.
DAY THREE OR FOUR –This day we plan to stand on the top of Kazbek (5047 m above sea level). We begin the peak attack at 1:00
am. The whole action will take about 10-14 hours (it all depends on the weather conditions and the capabilities of participants).
After the return from the summit, we rest and spend the night in the base by the Meteo Station. There is a possibility of descent to
Stepancminda (Kazbegi) immediately after the peak attack. You should add an additional 5-6 hours of trekking that day.
*This five-day trip plan contains 1 extra day, in case of bad weather.
