Situated in the north of the country Svaneti is bordered by both Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Bakaria in the Russian Federation. It is home to some of the highest mountains in the Caucasus. This historical region is brimming with ancient villages and the locals known as Svans have largely retained their culture and heritage for centuries. Characteristic of this region are the Svan towers (koshki) built in the medieval period to act as defense and signal towers against invading armies. Trek through the beautiful mountains to explore the medieval towers and Churches of Svaneti, be awe struck by some of the highest peaks in Europe and prepare to be immersed in local mountain culture.

Day 1
Transfer to Svaneti
Transfer to Svaneti from Kutaisi airport arrival 02.45
You will be met at Kutaisi airport by one of our guides and transferred to Svaneti arriving in Svaneti in time for breakfast. 4hr transfer time.
Day 2
Trek to Chalaadi Glacier.
Following a local style breakfast at 9.00am we begin our trek from Lavladashi to Chalaadi Glacier. We follow beautiful valleys and trek through lush forests before we get a glimpse of the glacier. Then we trek up to an altitude of 2070m. We can enjoy the 360 views of the Caucasus mountains stopping on route for a picnic lunch. Following lunch we trek down to a foot bridge over Mestiachala, from where we take our transport back to Mestia.

Day 3
Trek from Becho to Ushba Waterfalls
We set off at 8am from our guesthouse for a 30 minute vehicle transfer to Becho a small village situated in the shadow of Mount Ushba. We start our trek from Becho through woods to the foot of Mt.Ushba standing at (4700m). A beautiful trek will bring us to the waterfalls and we can enjoy the spectacular view of Becho whilst stopping on route for a picnic lunch. The first 2 hours is comparatively easy, but the next 3 hours gets a bit harder. On our way back we meet our local transport near a bridge and return to our guesthouse.

Day 4
Visit to the Enguri Dam – transfer to Kutaisi international
Setting off after breakfast at 9am we head out of the mountains stopping to marvel at the Enguri Dam (The second highest Arch dam in the world). We have a 4 hour drive to Kutaisi international airport through beautiful countryside arriving at 14.00 for check in and your return flight at 16.00.
