Via Ferrata in Rila mountains BulgariaTour on Via Ferata “Kuklata” passes on rock pillar located right on Kuklata peak (The Doll) 2257 m. The trail reaches panoramic ridge with wonderful views of the Maliovitsa valley and the neighboring Urdina valley and all peaks of Maljovitsa 2729 m.
Via Ferrata, ‘Iron Way’ in Italian, is a route with fixed protection that helps people move safely on routes that would normally be the domain of rock climbers. Protection on a via Ferrata includes a combination of thick steel cables, metal bars, steps, ladders and bridges. These are usually bolted and glued to the rock face allowing people to clip into the protection and be safe at all times.
No previous climbing or Via Ferrata experience is required. Trekkers or walkers who is not afraid of heights can complete a via Ferrata with a mountain guide.
The cables and ladders provide protection so that non-experienced climbers can easily ascend or traverse through the mountains safely.

Back in the 1990 when snowboarding was a novelty in Bulgaria, I started exploring the sport. Happily shredding deep fresh powder, making wonderful series of runs he experienced the joy of the physical & mental challenges, being alone in the mountain and the ability to push myself to the limit. Playing with the adrenaline rush on one hand and the meditative state on the other is what fuels his love for snowboarding.
After mastering the technique, snowboarding became a journey dedicated to understanding the mind. It was clear for him that further advancement depended on constant practice, mental discipline and developing creativity. After these experiences I decided that it’s worth sharing the knowledge and experience with others and in 2001 became a snowboarding instructor and a mountain guide.
