Yayamari Glacier Mountain is the first 6,000 m.a.s.l. in the Region, also known as “Montura”, for its saddle shape. Yayamari means “The father of the ponds” in Quechua language and it is the ideal choice for those who look for big challenges in a short time.
It is the kind of adventure where, in the morning you are enjoying the impressive views from the summit, and then, back in Camp 1, we will spend the afternoon fishing in a high Andean lake.

Hi! I'm an independent mountaineering guide, native of Argentina.
Cusco is unlike any place in the world. Mountaineering has in Cusco, an incomparable scenery: a unique concentration of mountains without agglomerations of climbers, a benign climate most of the year and a relatively easy access to totally isolated environments. Thanks to this unique combination, Cusco is considered one of the most attractive destinations for mountain climbers from all over the world.
Peru, Cusco, Quispicanchi Province
Cusco (3.400m) – Phinaya (4.850m) – Base Camp (5.000m)
We will depart at dawn from your hotel towards Sicuani town. Once there, we will take a small route towards the little Community of Phinaya where we will have our lunch. After a rest and having prepared our equipment, we will hike for 3 to 4 hours towards the Ccascara Pond where our Camp will be ready for us.
Base Camp – Camp I (5.400m)
This morning, after breakfast, our journey will take us about 5 hours. When we get to Camp 1, after crossing a large moraine, we will have our lunch and enjoy a leisurely afternoon, to prepare for the next day ascent. Tonight, we will wake up at 23:00 hs. for breakfast and 1 hour later we will attack the summit.
Camp I – Summit (6.049m) – Base Camp
The journey to the summit will take us about 5 to 6 hours. Once there, we will be able to enjoy one of the best sunrises in Cusco. The descent is going to be faster and we will be arriving to Ccascara Pond, approximately at 14:00 hs. At this place, the muleteers and porters will be waiting
for us with the Camp and the lunch prepared. All we have to do then is enjoy the beautiful landscapes and, if lucky, fish some trouts for dinner.
