Mountain Pumori (7 161 m / 23 494 ft)

A moderately technical pyramid snow and rock mountain, Mt. Pumori is perhaps the most popular mountain among the 7000er Himalayas of Nepal. Climbing Pumori is an ideal preparation for those aspiring for the more technical 8000m peaks including the Mt Everest. Convenient, in terms of logistics, climbing - the availability of infrastructure Everest makes this mountain one of the most affordable seventhousanders Nepal. Climbing is interesting for those, who already has an experience of climbing into simpler seventhousanders (eg, Lenin Peak), or mountains, close to this elevation. Climbing Pumori – is a great opportunity to apply the skills and enrich the experience of climbing. It is technically difficult mountain. And climbing on it can be equated to the sportclimb.

Remarkable pyramid shaped peak. Pumori is a popular climbing peak, although with significant avalanche danger. Used as a training peak for past Everest teams this peak. Offered as a guided climb by many different companies. Accessible only from Nepalese side.

Located on Nepalese-Tibetan border, 8 km from Everest. Lies close to the tracking rout to Nepalese Everest base camp and most part of ascent attached to it.

Flight to Lukla (2840m) from Kathmandu, than trekking to Gorak Shep via Lobushe.

There are permits required. These can be arraigned by yourself, or with the firm, you hire to support your team.

Pumori, which means "Unmarried Daughter" in the Sherpa

language, was named by George Mallory. Climbers sometimes

refer to Pumori as "Everest's Daughter".
