On the other hand there are several huge benefits - the polar day, the communication with plenty of climbers who are reaching a common goal and finally - the opportunity to reach the top of one from the Seven Summits List. In addition, only McKinley has combination of high-altitude expedition style and excellent infrastructure of the national park.... Read more

• Denali's reputation as a highly coveted summit derives from its location near the Arctic Circle and the Pacific Ocean (Gulf of Alaska) giving it some of the most ferocious weather in the world. Because of its notorious weather and ease of access, some climbers use Denali as a training ground for climbing the 8,000 meter peaks of the Himalaya and for extended expeditions in the Arctic or Antarctic.... • Mount McKinley, located within Denali National Park and Preserve (USA, Alaska), is the highest mountain on the North American continent. Measured from the 600 meters (2 000 feet) lowlands to its snowy summit at 6 194 meters (20 320 feet), the mountain’s vertical relief of 5 500 meters (18 000 feet) is greater than that of Mount Everest.... • Small amounts of airborne pollutants from around the world arrive in Denali every year. Remoteness alone cannot protect the park's clean air. As global human population grows, it is likely that increasing global emissions will affect Denali's air quality.
