DESCRIPTION Edit

Actually the Highlands is a vast lava-tuff plateau (1500-3000 m elevation) with giant volcanic cones (were formed in the later stages of volcanic activity and had reached elevation of several thousand meters) and tectonic depressions separated by ridges.

Armenian Highland includes Javakheti, Kara, Geghama, Vardenis and Karabakh (Syunik) Highlands and Agdagsky massif in South.

LOCATION Edit

Main part of the Armenian Highlands lies within modern borders of Turkey and Armenia. It also includes northwestern Iran, South Georgia and the western part of Azerbaijan.

• According to the Bible the Noah's Ark landed after the Flood to the summit of Mount Ararat. People are still trying to find the remains of the Ark on the mountain slopes. Some say they succeeded.
