Full description

Big and impressive mountains with an amazing glacier landscape.

D1: La Paz - Peñas Huellas Andinas

After 2 hours driving, a 4 hour trek (300 mt elevation gain) leads us to Qillqantiji cave paintings, Carmenpata ruins, indigenous leader Tupak Katari’s cave and the village colonial church. There are rocks everywhere, and we use them to update our rock-climbing and abseiling techniques.

D2: Peñas – Chearoco Base Camp (4600 mt)

We trek up from Kinamarini village through large swamps.

D3: Base Camp – High Camp (5200 mt)

We walk uphill 3 hours on scree to High Camp. In the afternoon, we check crampons and rope techniques.

D4: Nevado Chachacomani (6074 mt)

Very long but easy glacier ascent through a giant glacier. 6 hours uphill. Level PD

D5: extra/rest day

D6: Nevado Chearoco (6127 mt)

We top out Southwest face and descend the normal route (AD). 12 hours return trip. Rest afternoon.

D7 : Back to Peñas or La Paz
