We will meet at the bottom station of Gazprom cableway and take a ride to the "Pikhtoviy" refuge at 1660 meters. From here begins the hiking part of our journey. We'll avoid the standard touristic route, and walk through the forest to come out to the south slope of Tabunnaya Mountain and walk up to the “Bear’s Gates” valley, at which point we will have already reached the height of the clouds! From here our experience changes depending on the weather conditions: we will either walk through the clouds and feel as if we are on a different planet entirely, or have an opportunity to see a picturesque panorama of the surrounding landscape.
After mount Tabunnaya we’ll head to the Bzerpi peak at 2482, where, if the weater allows, we will relish one of the best views over Krasnaya Polyana, Black sea, main Caucasian ridge and Abkhasian Mountains. You will also have a chance to try "yukigata" - Japanese art and philosophy of mountain gazing.
After we're done admiring the sights, we will walk down to the Bzerpinskiy cornice camp to have a traditional russian camping lunch of buckwheat porridge and sausages, and drink tea.
After lunch we will walk along the other slope of Tabunnaya to reach "Bear's Gates" again and walk through a magical forest to reach our initial starting point.
