The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek offers travelers to explore around beautiful Langtang valley, serene lakes and cross Laurebinayak Pass at 4610m. Langtang Gosaikunda Trek begins as we take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. The easy road access has made it more comfortable drive these days. We will then head towards Kyangin Gompa via Langtang village and Lama Hotel. Excellent views of Langtang Himalayan range is seen from Kyangin Gompa. Further heading east, we push ourselves through high altitude serene pilgrimage site at Gosaikunda Lakes. And cross Laure binayak pass is another major highlight of this trip.

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is suitable for all travelers looking forward to have moderately challenging adventure across hills, forests and Himalayas.

Day 1

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1462 m)
We start our Langtang Gosaikunda Trek by taking a drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi on private Jeep or local bus. We cross through the Trisuli river, Nuwakot district, Dhunche and finally at Syabru. After 7 hours long drive, even though we are near Kathmandu, we can feel the change in atmosphere while approaching beautiful Langtang valley.

We stay overnight at local guest house.

Day 2

Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2500 m)
Syabrubesi is the starting point of the trek and we begin our trek passing through the BhoteKoshi river and Langtang river. Further we enter the local vlilage of Ramche, Bamboo and ascend towards Lama Hotel. We get to explore local flora fauna today like monkeys, red pandas etc.

We stay overnight at local guest house.

Day 3

Trek from Lama Hotel to Mundu (3543m)
We walk through dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. Enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. On the way to Mundu, we leave Langtang Village, the village severely affected by April 2015 earthquake. We can see ruins of Langtang Village, where life is slowing building back and a few tea-houses are reopened.

Day 4

Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3798 m)
It will be a short walk today. We give a visit to nearby cheese factory and see how the local cheese is produced. Also we enjoy excellent views of Langtang Lirung peak and other nearby Himalayas.

We stay overnight at local guest house in Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 5

Kyanjin Gompa exploration day
We either climb Kyanging Ri or Tserko Ri for nice views of the Langtang Himalayan range. Kynjing Ri climb is about 4-5 hours while Tserko Ri climb and back will take much more longer time ( approx 7 hours). You can talk with your guide and select one of the peak to climb.

Day 6

Return to Lama Hotel (2500 m)
Today, we begin our day after having our early meal at our tea house. Initially, we again cross the raging Bhotekoshi river. Then continue gradual and careful walk through landslide prone area. Further, the trail ascends through local settlements which lie at the river bank of Langtang river. We have our quick stop over here and then have our lunch.

Day 7

Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2250 m)
We carry on our Langtang Gosaikunda Trek further making our way through the landslide prone area and climb steep to popular Thulo Syabru. It will be more of the flora and fauna exploration day as we will spot birds, red pandas along with beautiful views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal and nearby Langtang Himalayas.

Day 8

Trek from Thulo Syabru to Shin Gompa (3250 m)
We gradually ascend towards Thulo Syabru to Foprang Danda that follows a steep ascent towards Dursagang from where excellent views of Langtang Himal along with Ganesh Himal and other nearby Himalayas are seen. Also beautiful landscape views of dense forests and hamlets is offered. We do visit local cheese factory and nearby Buddhist monastery at Sin Gompa.

Day 9

Trek form Shin Gompa to Gosainkunda (4300 m)
During the initial time of the day, we slowly ascend towards Laurebinayak. The view from top of the ridge is absolutely stunning. Further ascending to higher altitude we finally arrive at serene and pilgrimage site of Gosaikunda. If the weather is clear, the views of nearby Himalayas becomes even more appealing from Langtang to even Annapurna range on western direction. There we can see small settlements along with many lakes around, the major being Gosaikunda, Bhairabkunda and Saraswati Kund. There are many mythological stories behind the creation of these lakes. We will surely know about these stories which will be explained by our professional trekking leader.

Day 10

Trek to Ghopte (3430m) via Laurebina pass(4610m)
In this way we say good bye to pilgrimage site of Gosaikunda then head towards popular high pass of Laurebina Yak pass or Laurebina pass which is also the highest point of this amazing adventure. With excellent views of Manaslu, Ganesh and Langtang Himalayan range, we descend towards fertile land of Ghopte.

Day 11

Trek from Ghopte to Kutumsang (2440 m)
We continue our Langtang Gosaikunda trek crossing the pine forests for around couple of hours to Thadepati. After walking uphill to Thadepati, the route is mostly a descending. There are plenty of hotel, lodges and guest houses available over there with amazing views of Himalayas blended with local people’s culture and tradition.

Day 12

Trek from Kutumsang to Chisopani (2110 m)
We have our early meal at our teahouse and slowly trek downhill towards Patti Bhanjyang. Then further after couple of hours walk we arrive at Chisopani. We will certainly feel much easier to breathe as we are now at low altitude. It will be a great refreshing walk walking downhill towards Chisopani.

Day 13

Trek from Chisapani to Sundarijal and drive to Kathmandu
We will be at Shivapuri National Park, walking through the rhododendron forests, beautiful waterfalls, gorges and river dam. In about 4 hours of downhill trek, we arrive at Sundarijal, a popular picnic spot for locals nearby Kathmandu city. From Sundarijal, we take about an hour drive to arrive at Thamel.
