    The highest mountain range in the world. This range is home to nine of the ten highest peaks on Earth , including the highest, Mount Everest. Himalayas rise above the Indo-Gangetic Plain in three parallel levels of different high. Lower about a thousand meters in altitude - Sivalik Hills. Medium - Lower Himalayan Range is reaching two to three thousand meters. Great Himalayas separated from Sivalik Hills and Lower Himalayan Range with valleys - Kashmir, Kathmandu and others. They are the highest and from west to east are divided into Punjabi, Kumaon, Nepal, Sikkim and Assam Ranges. Greater Himalayas is characterized by sharp alpine terrain features and glaciation.
