Lake Titicaca is the largest lake in the world that elevates above 3000 meters. It's situated in Bolivian Andes on the border between Bolivia and Peru. The elevation of lake surface is 3812 meters and it is more elevated than summits of Mount Fuji (Japan) and Mount Cook (New Zealand). Scientists consider that about 100 million years ago the lake surface were located 3750 meters below and was an ocean bay.
