East African Rift Valley - a major rift formation. Many isolated mountain formations formed around the fracture – many massifs, ranges and ridges, and volcanoes. In this part of Africa is a great number of national parks, the largest of which for mountaineering purposes are Kilimanjaro National Park and Mount Kenya National Park. Also there are crater of Ngorongoro Highlands with a caldera, volcano Meru, and Africa's largest lake Victoria.
