The First Cho-Oyu autumn expedition takes off for 2020 from Tibet Side with 14 Chinese climbers.
Cho Oyu (8102m) is the sixth highest mountain in the world, located at a short distance to the west from Everest in the Khumbu region of Eastern Nepal along the Tibetan border.
A first autumn 8000m expedition starting with a group of 14 Chinese members is going to climb Mount Cho-Oyu. The additional team consists of 20 Tibetan guides and supporting staff with 1 Base Camp Doctor.
On 12 Sept, the expedition groups are on the way from Lhasa to Sigache. They will be on Thingri (4300m ). Next Day, there will be 3 days of climbing practice training and acclimatization. After completion team will be moving to Cho-Oyu Advance Base Camp ( ABC), 5700 meters. The team members are optimistic to make a climb successful according to the sources.
On the break of Covid-19, Nepal has stopped providing climbing permits for all the mountains during spring. But, taking healthy precaution measures the Nepal government is in favor to make mountain again during this autumn season. The Department of Tourism (DOT) has already issued a peak climbing permit for Mt.Baruntse and will be soon permitting for Mt.Manaslu Climbing during this autumn take off.
The numbers of climbing mountains and hiking high hills are continuing in the European, Russian and American mountains during the pandemic.
