Russian alpinists Vitaly Lazo and Anton Pugovkin announce the start of “Death Zone Freeride” project. The goal is: to ascent 5 highest mountains of the world with no supplement oxygen, and to descent skiing. They are Manaslu, Annapurna, Nanga Parbat, Everest, K2.
This is a non-commercial project, aimed to promote pure, sportive mountaineering, to demonstrate possibilities of a man on extremely high altitudes.
The project was designed on Sept 2017. That time Vitaly and Anton made their dreams come true: they climbed Manaslu (8163 m) with no supplement oxygen and skied down from the summit, thus proved that even on such extreme conditions off-pist skiing is possible. The next step of the project is to be started on Sept 11th, — it is Annapurna expedition (8091 m).
Mountaineers have the same goals — non-oxygen climbing and ski descent. During expedition climbers are going to shoot a video, and then make a movie about unpredictable mountain.
