Alpinists Vitaliy Lazo and Anton Pugovkin made a difficult decision to cancel freeride from Annapurna project due to complex avalanche situation.
“There are a lot of snow droppings on the slope, — report alpinists. — Avalanches are constant, and the probability get under is very high with no chances to escape after hitting. Also, there are a very large amount of snow on Annapurna, and it is impossible to track”.
On October, 2 Anton and Vitaliy start trekking to nearest Nepal village. There are no any people around, they say, and the views are stunning. The route back is a real adventure by itself, the overpasses are very dangerous.
The highest reached point on Annapurna for Lazo and Pugovkin was 6300 meters. It is not the first cancelled expedition of the season, during October, 2018 the renowned alpinist Carlos Soria from Spain refused to climb Dhaulagiri, and Thomas Huber from Germany abandoned his attempt of Latok I ascent.
